We present pots in Pinto, a glaze that in some light looks like the skin of this humble, beloved bean.
You know Samin Nosrat from her television show Salt, Fat, Acid, Heat and the acclaimed book of the same name. You know her from the podcast Home Cooking and from her New York Times Magazine columns, but perhaps most of all, you know her from your very own cooking—the lessons she taught you about the four pillars of great cooking.
Samin kept it close to her home and her heart when she chose East Oakland’s Acta Non Verba: Youth Urban Farm Project as the recipient of 10% of the proceeds of all the pots in Pinto we sell. These funds will help open The DEEP, a worker-owned grocery cooperative that will offer fresh organic produce, community education, and cooperative economics.
Please note: All of our pottery is made by humans in Asheville, North Carolina, with dynamic, regional, lead-free stoneware clays. Slight variations should be expected and embraced! Our work is dishwasher and microwave safe and made for daily use.
