This is Connie’s all-time favorite cookbook. Margarita Carillo Arronte is an all-star. She’s a Mexico City based chef and restaurateur, oversees Slow Food Baja, and was integral in the effort to get Mexican food recognized as a UNESCO cultural property.

Thankfully more folks in our Western North Carolina community are catching drift that Mexican cuisine is not just guacamole and cheese dip. The publisher tells us, “With a culinary history dating back 9,000 years, Mexican food draws influences from Aztec and Mayan Indians and is renowned for its use of fresh aromatic ingredients, colorful presentations and bold food combinations.”
