They’re essential to the economy and culture, where they work the fields, provide nutrient-rich meat and milk, poop out dung that becomes fertilizer which, when dried, can be used as fuel. Horns, bones, and leather become materials for making musical instruments, utensils, jewelry, shoes, and more. When a water buffalo dies, every part of the animal is used as to not waste and honor its life.
